WORLDENGINE · AN INTERACTIVE STUDY

Shanghai, with possibility.

This began with the woman I love, now my wife, and the city she loves. Autumn is my favorite; blossoms in parks and university grounds, the night skyline, and fireworks from my first visit are memories I wanted to share. So I made a little Shanghai we can walk through together.

Recognizable Shanghai landmarks meet an authored, walkable waterfront and imagined cherry-blossom and autumn seasons. The waterfront design and seasonal planting are artistic interpretations; this is not a surveyed reconstruction.

Built from Worldengine’s editable city geometry, with mapped OpenStreetMap data. Landmark detail is interpreted from documented references.

The night world is an artistic interpretation informed by landmark lighting references. Its animated patterns are original, not a recording of a particular live show. Lighting references and interpretation ↗
